HRMS software in Ahmedabad
Kuzhu is HR and payroll software for Ahmedabad companies: pharma plants at Sanand, Changodar and Bavla, denim and textile mills at Naroda, engineering and chemical units in the Vatva and Odhav GIDC estates, and finance and IT offices on SG Highway and at GIFT City in Gandhinagar. Attendance, shifts, leave and payroll with PF, ESI and TDS run on one record, with Gujarat’s flat professional tax and the half-yearly labour welfare fund deducted automatically.

What month end looks like in Ahmedabad
PT to the corporation, LWF twice a year
Gujarat’s professional tax is paid to the municipal corporation and the labour welfare fund is deducted in June and December; both are small enough to forget in a spreadsheet and expensive enough to be noticed when the notice arrives.
Plant at Sanand, office at Prahlad Nagar
A pharma or engineering company runs three shifts at the plant with biometric gates and contract labour, and a corporate office on a five-day week; two attendance regimes, two leave policies and one payroll run stitched together in Excel.
GIFT City hires on a different clock
Finance and IT firms at GIFT City recruit fast, pay variable components and lose people to Mumbai and Bengaluru; offers, onboarding, appraisal and full and final are handled across four tools that never agree on a joining date.

How the modules answer it
Every module reads the same employee record, so nothing below is an integration; it is one system seen from four sides.

Gujarat statutory deductions, done
Professional tax at Gujarat’s single slab above the threshold, the labour welfare fund contribution in June and December, PF with the EPS split and ESI where gross is within ₹21,000, all computed per employee inside every monthly run.
Payroll module
Plant rosters next to office weeks
Rotating shifts for the Sanand or Vatva plant and a five-day pattern for the SG Highway office, each with its own week-offs and holiday list, judged against the punches from that location’s own device rather than a shared assumption.
Shifts & Rosters module
Offer to joining on one record
Requisitions, candidate pipeline, interview scheduling and offer letters, with the accepted offer creating the employee record so joining documents, PF nomination and the first payslip use the same data without anyone typing it twice.
Recruitment (ATS) module
Cost by plant, office and grade
Headcount, salary cost, attrition and overtime cut by branch, department and grade, so the finance team in Ahmedabad sees what Sanand costs against what Naroda costs without running a monthly pivot exercise on three exports.

What is different about payroll in Gujarat
PF, ESI and TDS are the same everywhere in India. These are the parts that follow the state, configured per branch so a company with people in two states runs both correctly.
Professional tax
Gujarat levies professional tax on salaried employees at a single slab above an exemption threshold, deducted monthly by the employer under a registration certificate and paid to the local body; the current figures are in the table on this page.
Labour welfare fund
The Gujarat Labour Welfare Fund contribution of ₹6 from the employee and ₹12 from the employer is deducted in June and December and paid to the Gujarat Labour Welfare Board; it covers employees of factories and establishments under the Act.
Shops & Establishments
Under the Gujarat Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2019, establishments with ten or more workers register online and those with fewer file an intimation; hours, overtime and leave follow the Act, and factories are covered by the Factories Act instead.
Holidays
The Gujarat government list, with Gujarat Day on 1 May and Uttarayan on 14 January, is the default calendar; plants that run through public holidays set their own list per branch and give compensatory offs.

Questions Ahmedabad companies ask on the first call
How does professional tax work in Gujarat?
Gujarat levies professional tax at a single monthly amount on salaries above a threshold, with nothing below it; the slab table on this page shows the figures. The employer holds a registration certificate, deducts the tax every month and deposits it with the local body. Kuzhu applies the slab automatically and produces the monthly summary for the deposit.
Do you visit Ahmedabad for implementation?
The team is in Udaipur, about 260 km away. Most Ahmedabad implementations run over video in two to four weeks, including import, configuration and one parallel payroll reconciled to the rupee. For larger rollouts in Gujarat, on-site visits for go-live and training are arranged. Support afterwards is by phone and WhatsApp in Hindi or English.
Can contract workers at the plant be on the same muster?
Yes. Contract workers are recorded with their own employment type and contractor name, so they appear on the muster, in ESI coverage checks and in headcount by plant while staying outside leave and bonus policies meant for permanent staff. The contractor’s own payroll stays with the contractor unless you pay them directly.
We have staff at GIFT City and in Mumbai. Does PT follow them?
Yes. Professional tax is applied by each employee’s work location. Staff at GIFT City in Gandhinagar are on the Gujarat slab; staff in Mumbai are on the Maharashtra slab with its exemption for women below a threshold; holiday calendars differ per branch too. One payroll run handles all of it with a state-wise summary.
