For small businesses
HR software for small businesses
Kuzhu gives a small Indian business the HR system a large one has, without the price or the training: employee records, attendance from the phone, leave balances people check themselves, payslips with PF, ESI and professional tax worked out, all in one place. The Basic plan is free for life for companies up to 15 employees, and there is no card to enter and no clock running on it.

What month end looks like at a small business
Payroll is one person’s memory
Salaries are computed in a sheet by the owner or an accountant on the last day of the month, and every question about leave, PF or a payslip lands on the same person, usually while they are doing something else.
Attendance by WhatsApp
Staff message "reached" to a group and somebody counts the messages at month end. Late marks and half days are a negotiation, and the count is redone when a salary is disputed on the fifth.

How the modules answer it
Every module reads the same employee record, so nothing below is an integration; it is one system seen from four sides.

Set up in an afternoon
Import employees from a spreadsheet, with validation that tells you which row is wrong, pick a leave policy, and the company is running. No implementation project and no consultant; the workspace exists the day you sign up.
Employees & Org Structure modulePunch from the phone
GPS-tagged mobile punch for staff who move around, web punch for the office, and a late-mark rule you set once. The month end count is already done by the time you open it.
Attendance module
Payslips with the statutory bits right
PF, ESI and professional tax computed for each person every month, payslips sent to the app, and the bank file, challans and ECR produced from the same run, so the consultant becomes optional.
Payroll module
Employees answer their own questions
Balances, payslips and leave requests on the phone, approvals from the notification, and announcements that reach everyone. The owner stops being the HR department because the questions stop arriving.

Questions small businesses ask on the first call
Is the free plan really free, or a trial?
Free for life for one company with up to 15 active employees, on fair use. It covers employee records, attendance with mobile punch, leave applications and balances, payslip and document storage and the mobile app for everyone. There is no card to enter and no clock running on it; it stays free as long as you are under 15.
We have 20 people. What does it cost?
Above 15 employees you move to Starter, or to Growth if you want payroll, both priced per employee per month and quoted on your actual headcount when you book a trial. There is no setup fee, no minimum contract, and a 14-day trial on the real product before you pay anything.
Do we still need a payroll consultant?
Kuzhu computes PF, ESI, PT and TDS in the run and produces the challans, ECR and registers on the Growth plan. Many small companies file these themselves from the output; others keep a consultant for filing and give them the files instead of the raw numbers. Either works, and both beat being told late.
Can the owner run it without an HR person?
Yes. It is designed for the company where the founder or the accounts person is HR. Employees apply for leave and download payslips themselves, managers approve from the phone, and the owner sees who is in today without asking. The app does the asking and answering that HR usually absorbs.
