HRMS software for manufacturing companies
Kuzhu is HR and payroll software built for Indian factories: rotating shift rosters, biometric punches from the gate evaluated against the shift each worker was rostered on, overtime at double rate and night allowances flowing straight into payroll, and PF, ESI and statutory bonus computed inside the run. One employee record covers permanent staff, contract workers and apprentices, so the muster, the wage register and the payslips agree.

What month end looks like in manufacturing
Three shifts, one spreadsheet
The biometric machine at the gate records punches, but somebody still exports them every week, matches them to a roster kept in Excel, and argues with supervisors about who was late on the night shift.
Overtime nobody trusts
Overtime hours are totted up by hand at month end, paid at a rate someone remembers, and disputed on payday by workers who kept their own count in a diary and arrived at a different number.
With Kuzhu
How the modules answer it
Every module reads the same employee record, so nothing below is an integration; it is one system seen from four sides.

Rosters published before the week starts
Rotation patterns, week-offs and night shifts assigned to whole teams in one action, published to phones before the week begins, and every punch judged against the shift the worker was actually rostered on, not the one the register assumed.
Shifts & Rosters moduleThe gate machine feeds the muster
Biometric devices at the gate push punches in as they happen; late marks, half days and overtime are applied by the policy you set. The muster roll becomes a report you open, not a file you rebuild on the second of the month.
Attendance module
Overtime, bonus and PF in the run
Overtime hours at the configured rate, statutory bonus against eligibility, PF with the EPS split on wages up to ₹15,000 and ESI where gross is within ₹21,000, all computed per worker inside every monthly run.
Payroll module
Registers when the inspector visits
Form B wage register, muster roll, overtime register and the PF ECR are produced from the same data the payslips carry, so what the inspector reads and what the worker was paid cannot disagree with each other.

Questions manufacturing teams ask on the first call
Does it connect to the biometric machine we already have?
Yes. Most ESSL, Matrix, ZKTeco and similar devices push punches to Kuzhu directly or through the device software, and there is a documented API for anything else. The machine at the gate stays where it is; it is repointed, not replaced, and punches appear on the muster as they happen.
How is overtime calculated?
Hours beyond the rostered shift, after the grace period you set, are captured per day and paid at the rate configured for that grade, typically double the ordinary rate as the Factories Act requires. The hours and the amount show as their own line on the payslip, so a dispute is settled by reading it.
Can contract workers be on the same system?
Yes. Contract workers are employees with a different employment type, so they appear on the muster, in PF and ESI coverage checks and in headcount by site, while staying out of leave and bonus policies that apply only to permanent staff. The contractor’s name sits on the record for the registers.
What about workers without smartphones?
Attendance comes from the biometric device, so nobody on the floor needs the app. Payslips can be printed, or sent by SMS and WhatsApp to a basic phone. The app is for supervisors approving leave between shifts and for office staff, and it uses the same login as the web.
