About Kuzhu
We watched month endeat companies from the inside
Every growing Indian company hits the same wall. The attendance machine speaks one format, the payroll consultant another. Leave lives in a register, assets in somebody's head, offer letters in a Word file with last year's CTC still in it. Each of these is small; together they cost the last week of every month.
Kuzhu exists because the fix is not a sixth tool — it is one system where the employee exists once, and attendance, leave, payroll, hiring and everything after it read the same record. The name comes from the Tamil kuzhu (குழு): a group, a team, a collective — which is what the software is about.
We are a product company based in Udaipur, and we sell software, not services hours: the product has to work without a consultant standing beside it.

Built in Udaipur
Rajasthan, India — for Indian payroll

One product
Software, not services hours

One record
Twenty modules reading the same employee

Your data, yours
A database per company, export any time
The story
Three decisions, one product
We kept meeting the same week
In company after company, the last week of the month belonged to reconciliation: the attendance machine against the muster, the muster against the salary sheet, the salary sheet against what the consultant filed. Nobody chose that system. It accreted.
One system, not a sixth tool
Every fix on the market was another tool with another copy of the employee. We took the opposite bet: one record that attendance, leave, payroll and hiring all read — so there is nothing to reconcile, because nothing ever disagreed.
Nobody switches on faith
Our onboarding runs your payroll in parallel with whatever you use today and reconciles the two, rupee for rupee, before you rely on us. That habit — prove it, then switch — is the whole company in one sentence.
How we work
Four principles we do not trade

The buyer is not the user
An MD signs the cheque; a payroll executive lives in the product. We build for the person who opens it every day, because that is who decides whether it survives the renewal.

India first, not India also
PF, ESI, professional tax, TDS, state holiday calendars, biometric punches on a factory gate — designed in from the start, not patched onto software written for somewhere else.

Data belongs to the customer
A separate database per company, exports whenever you want, deletion that actually deletes. We would rather earn the renewal than hold the data hostage.

Boring where it should be boring
Payroll is not the place for surprises. The exciting part of Kuzhu is how uneventful month end becomes.

Careers
Build the product a million payslips will trust
We are a small team in Udaipur doing careful work on a problem most software ignores: the unglamorous machinery that pays people correctly and on time. If that sounds boring, it is not for you. If it sounds like engineering with consequences, read on.
- You have opinions about payslips, and can defend them
- You would rather fix the process than staff the queue
- You write like you mean to be understood
- Udaipur appeals to you — mountains, lakes, and no commute worth complaining about
