For mid-size companies
HRMS software for mid-size companies
Kuzhu is HR and payroll software for Indian companies with 50 to 500 employees, the size at which spreadsheets and a consultant stop being enough: attendance, leave and shifts across branches on one record, approval chains for leave, expenses and salary revisions, payroll with PF, ESI, professional tax and TDS that closes in a sitting, appraisal cycles that finish, and reports the MD can open on Monday. Implementation takes two to four weeks, including one parallel payroll reconciled to the rupee.

What month end looks like at a mid-size company
Payroll takes the first week of every month
Two people in HR collect attendance from four branches, chase leave approvals on email, reconcile them against a salary sheet and send the result to a consultant, who files PF and ESI a few days late.
Policy lives in people’s heads
Who can approve an expense over ₹25,000, how many days of leave carry forward, what the notice period is for a manager: each answer depends on who is asked, and each exception becomes the next precedent.

How the modules answer it
Every module reads the same employee record, so nothing below is an integration; it is one system seen from four sides.

One workflow engine for every yes
Leave, expenses, purchases, salary revisions and letters route through chains configured by amount, department and role, with delegation when an approver is away and escalation when a request sits. The policy enforces itself, identically, everywhere.
Approval Workflows module
A run that closes in a sitting
Loss of pay from attendance, leave encashment from the ledger, expenses approved that month, arrears and revisions, PF, ESI, professional tax by branch and TDS, computed together with the bank file, challans and registers produced from the same run.
Payroll module
Appraisals that end with letters
Goals set at the start of the cycle, self and manager reviews, calibration across teams and increment recommendations that flow into salary revisions and letters, with the history kept for next year’s promotion case.
Performance Management module
The Monday numbers, the same for everyone
Headcount, attrition, attendance patterns, salary cost by department and compliance registers from live data, filtered by branch or grade, scheduled to arrive by email on the day they are due, and exported to Excel when the board wants the file.

Questions mid-size companies ask on the first call
How long does implementation take at our size?
Two to four weeks. The workspace exists on day one; the first week imports employees, salary structures, leave balances and open loans with validation; the second configures policies, shifts and approval chains; the third runs a parallel payroll reconciled to the rupee against your current process; the fourth brings everyone onto the app.
We have 300 employees. Which plan?
Growth covers up to 250 employees with payroll, recruitment, performance, expenses, approvals and reports. Above that, Enterprise adds multi-entity reporting, API access, white-label branding, a dedicated database with an SLA and a named support contact, on a custom quote. Both are priced per employee on your actual headcount.
We are switching from greytHR or Keka. What comes across?
The employee master, leave balances as of the switch date, salary history and structures, imported from your export and validated row by row. Biometric devices are repointed, not replaced, approval chains are rebuilt the way you run them, and week three is a parallel payroll so the first live month matches.
Can branches have different rules?
Yes. Holiday calendars, shifts, attendance policies, professional tax and labour welfare fund are set per branch, and roles can scope a branch HR or manager to their own people. Reports roll every branch up for head office, and a transfer between branches is one dated edit on the record.
