Attendance
Attendance is the daily record of whether, when and for how long an employee worked, captured from punches and judged against shift rules to produce paid days.
Raw punches from biometric devices, web or mobile are matched to the rostered shift, then rules for grace time, late marks, half days and overtime turn them into a status for the day.
The month's statuses become the muster that payroll pays on.
In Indian payroll
Factories with a biometric device at the gate and offices with hybrid rules need the same engine with different policies. The muster should be a review at month end, not a reconstruction.
