Muster roll
The muster roll is the statutory register of daily attendance for each employee, the record payroll pays on and inspectors ask for.
It shows, for each day, whether the employee was present, absent, on leave, on holiday or on week-off, with hours where required. Under the ease-of-compliance rules it is combined with the wage register.
Generated from the attendance system, it is a report; maintained by hand, it is a liability.
In Indian payroll
Factories must keep it in the prescribed form. A muster that reconciles itself from punches, leave and rosters is the goal of most attendance projects.
