Attendance & leave
Week-off
A week-off is the paid weekly rest day every employee is entitled to, fixed by roster and not necessarily a Sunday.
The Factories Act and state shop acts require one day of rest in every seven. Rosters assign week-offs so that coverage continues; working on a week-off earns a compensatory off or overtime.
Attendance treats the week-off as a paid non-working day, not an absence.
In Indian payroll
Retail and hospitality rotate week-offs across the team. Payroll must count them as paid days so LOP is not applied by mistake.
