Holiday calendar
A holiday calendar is the list of paid public holidays for the year, which in India differs by state and often by branch, including national and optional (restricted) holidays.
States prescribe a minimum number of holidays under their shop acts, and the three national holidays (26 January, 15 August, 2 October) are mandatory. Companies add festival holidays and offer a few optional ones employees choose from.
Attendance treats a holiday as a paid non-working day for the locations it applies to.
In Indian payroll
A company with branches in Kerala and Gujarat needs two calendars. Onam and Uttarayan are not optional in their states.
