Grievance
A grievance is a formal complaint by an employee about their work, treatment or conditions, handled through a defined process with timelines and records.
Policies set how to raise one, who hears it, how long each stage takes and how appeals work. The Industrial Relations Code requires a grievance redressal committee in establishments with 20 or more workers.
Tracking grievances as tickets gives status, ownership and a trail.
In Indian payroll
A grievance handled in a system has a record; one handled in a corridor has a version. The record is what protects both sides later.
