Delhi holiday list 2026
Delhi follows the gazetted list the central government notifies for its offices in the capital: the three national holidays and fourteen festivals. Gurugram (Haryana) and Noida (Uttar Pradesh) publish separate state lists that overlap with it but do not match.

Weekend dates are marked in red. Restricted and optional holidays, and local holidays declared by a district collector, are not included.
For employers in Delhi
Private employers are not bound by the government list. Republic Day, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti are paid national holidays everywhere; beyond those, the state’s festival-holiday law or the establishment’s standing orders set how many paid festival holidays must be given, and the employer chooses which ones and notifies the list at the start of the year.
A holiday that falls on the weekly off is usually not replaced unless the company’s policy says so. Staff who work on a paid holiday get double wages or a compensatory day off, depending on the law that applies to the establishment.

This list has 17: 3 national holidays, 14 festival holidays. 3 of them fall on a Saturday or Sunday. Restricted or optional holidays are notified separately.

Yes. Festivals set by the lunar calendar or the sighting of the moon can move by a day when the state notifies them or when the moon is sighted. Check the notification or the district order before finalising your company calendar.
